ACTION ALERT! Urge Your Legislators to Support Regulatory Reform!

The President and Congress have an historic opportunity to dramatically improve the regulatory process to increase the competitiveness of the American pulp, paper, packaging, tissue and wood products industry.

We need your help to urge the Senate to take up legislation creating system-wide regulatory reform!

In an increasingly competitive global economy, American manufacturing must wrestle with a playing field here at home that has become distorted by federal regulations.

With more than 3,500 federal regulations issued each year, U.S. paper and wood products manufacturers have spent billions of dollars on regulatory compliance and are estimated to spend an additional $10 billion over the next decade.

Poorly-designed regulations are discouraging growth and limiting job creation. To fix this, government leaders must embrace systemic regulatory reform.

The House of Representatives has moved quickly this year to pass regulatory reform legislation, including the Regulatory Accountability Act (RAA). We expect the Senate to introduce the RAA later this year and urge all Senators to support its passage.

Please complete the form below to thank your Representative if they supported the House RAA bill and to ask your Senators to contact Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) to express support and co-sponsor the bill when introduced.

Thank you,
