ACTION ALERT! Urge Your Legislators to Support Regulatory Reform!

The Congress has an historic opportunity to dramatically improve the regulatory process and to increase the competitiveness of the American pulp, paper, packaging, tissue and wood products industry.

We need your help to urge the Senate to act on legislation providing system-wide regulatory reform!

In an increasingly competitive global economy, American manufacturing must wrestle with a playing field here at home that increasingly has become distorted by a patchwork of federal regulations.

With more than 3,500 federal rules issued each year, U.S. paper and wood products manufacturers have spent billions of dollars on regulatory compliance and could be required to spend an additional $10 billion over the next decade.

Poorly-designed regulations are discouraging growth and limiting job creation. To fix this, government leaders must embrace systemic regulatory reform.

The House of Representatives has moved quickly this year to pass regulatory reform legislation, including the Regulatory Accountability Act (RAA). Senators Rob Portman (R-OH) and Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND) along with Senators Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and Joe Manchin (D-WV) introduced the RAA, S. 951, in late April. We urge the Senate to act on the RAA this year and urge all Senators to support its passage.

Please complete the form below to ask your Senators to contact Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) to co-sponsor S. 951 and to thank your Representative if they supported the House RAA bill.

Thank you,
