Workers' Comp Relief

Recently, you may have seen an increase in your workers’ compensation rates and that is partially due to rising medical care and prescription drug costs. You can help reduce those rates by contacting your legislators now! The Workers’ Compensation “Repackaging” Bill, or Senate Bill 668/House Bill 511, will reduce annual workers’ compensation rates by closing a loophole that allows doctors to charge exorbitant prices for prescription drugs that they “repackage” and directly dispense. Florida Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty has stated that there would be an immediate 3% reduction in rates. Please use the bullets here to contact the Governor and your legislators and ask them to support Senate Bill 668 and House Bill 511. Tell them that as a small business owner you need immediate relief to your workers’ comp costs. Contact NFIB/Florida with any questions, or to let us know you've contacted your legislators: florida@nfib.org.
