HB 1203 by Rep Williams is scheduled to be heard on the House floor on Tuesday. The bill would remove local sales taxes on prescription drugs. Currently, the state is barred from taxing prescription drugs, but local governments are not. Louisiana is one of only a few states with this unreasonable tax burden that is literally a sick tax, and it should be repealed.
