Tell Your Member of Congress to Co-Sponsor HR 2241
Please support efforts to build more resiliently by sending your member of Congress a letter in support of H.R. 2241, the Disaster Savings and Resilient Construction Act of 2013.
Introduced on June 5th, 2013 and sponsored by Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL), the bill would offer a tax credit of $3,000 for residential and $25,000 for commercial structures using resilient construction techniques. Specifically, structures would be eligible for the credit that are built within a federally declared disaster zone, up to two years following the occurrence of the disaster. The bill represents an important incentive to change the way communities are rebuilt, saving lives and taxpayer dollars, while protecting the built environment.
