ACTION ALERT! Ask your Member of Congress to Support the Safe Trucking Act, H.R. 3488!

Please contact your Representative and ask them to support increased transportation productivity for U.S. paper and wood products manufacturers.

Representative Reid Ribble (R-WI) introduced the Safe, Flexible and Efficient Trucking Act (Safe Trucking Act), which will increase the weight limit for trucks traveling on Federal highways to 91,000 pounds.

The Safe Trucking Act, H.R. 3488, would be the first increase of the U.S. Gross Vehicle Weight limit since 1982 and would lead to a reduction of 1.4 million truck trips taken by the forest products industry, while the number of truck miles traveled could decline by 250 million.

The U.S. needs responsible truck weight reform and passing the Safe Trucking Act is the best way to safely make truck transportation more sustainable for the paper and wood products industry.

We need your help conveying the industry’s support for Representative Ribble’s truck weight reform proposal which is likely to be discussed during the surface transportation reauthorization legislation when it is considered by Congress this fall.

Please complete the form below to contact your Representative today and ask that they support this legislation.
