Tell your Senators to Oppose the Paycheck Fairness Act!

The House recently passed the Paycheck Fairness Act and Senate action is expected soon.  This legislation will open the flood gates to unwarranted litigation against employers at a time when businesses are struggling to retain and create jobs.

These bills are a trial lawyer’s dream.  By removing all limits to punitive and compensatory damage awards on claims made under the Equal Pay Act (EPA), the Paycheck Fairness Act would expose employers to increased threats of litigation – even when unintentional pay disparities may have occurred.  Its passage would likely prompt many employers to purchase additional legal liability insurance, costing jobs.

If this harmful bill become law, the burdensome legal costs already hampering U.S. manufacturing will skyrocket. Contact your Senator now to express your opposition to the Paycheck Fairness Act.
