Act Now on Shaheen Portman Energy Efficiency Legislation (S. 1392)

Despite legislative gridlock in Washington, NEMA sees reason for hope that common ground can be found on the topic of energy efficiency.

The Energy Savings and Industrial Competitiveness Act (S. 1392) overwhelmingly passed the Senate Energy Committee and has been brought to the Senate floor.  The Senate has resumed work on the bill since returning from recess on September 9.  We need you to contact your Senator to express support for this bill.  We are asking for your help in building momentum for this bipartisan bill.

NEMA has worked very closely with Sens. Shaheen (D-NH) and Portman (R-OH) and their staffs to produce a bill we believe advances the cause of energy efficiency and can be supported by Members of Congress of all political stripes.

Please send a letter to your Senators asking them to vote in support of the Shaheen Portman energy legislation.
