State Legislative Issues
The cost of government is more than taxes: it includes the cost of legislation and regulations that are part of the daily operating expenses. The South Carolina Prosperity Project works to prevent anti-business legislation and regulation, and together the business community can work together to develop solutions to address business concerns.
Each year, the business community develops the Competitiveness Agenda, a list of legislative priorities that will impact the state's business community.
The Competitiveness Agenda
The Competitiveness Agenda is the business community's annual list of legislative priorities. It is developed each fall after 10 Grassroots Meetings across the state and numerous conversations with business leaders. The 2013 Competitiveness Agenda focuses on legislative issues key to prosperity for all South Carolinians, such as infrastructure, workforce development, tax reform, economic development, energy and environment and health care. Learn more about each of these issues.
