Trade Association and Other Organization Memberships and Partnerships

PPG Industries is a member or partner of several industry, trade, and other groups, including the National Association of Manufacturers, the American Chemistry Council, and the American Coatings Association. These organizations represent PPG Industries’ core business areas, which include but are not limited to, business promotion, manufacturing, coatings, and technology. We invest in these associations in an effort to bring about consensus on broad policy issues that can impact PPG Industries' business objectives. PPG Industries' participation in these various groups comes with the understanding that we may not always agree with the positions of the larger organization and/or other members.

Each year, PPG Industries makes reasonable efforts to obtain from member associations the portion of the company's dues or payments that were used for non-deductible lobbying and political expenditures under Internal Revenue Code Section 162(e). This information is publicly disclosed as required by law in a report to the U.S. House of Representatives, which can be found at http://clerk.house.gov/public_disc and to the U.S. Senate, which can be found at http://www.senate.gov/legislative/Public_Disclosure/LDA_reports.htm.

PPG Industries does not plan to request information concerning the contributions made by these groups to others, nor do we plan to condition our membership or sponsorships of organizations on any specific criteria except that which falls within our aforementioned core areas.

Through the PPG Industries Foundation, PPG Industries provides funding to charitable organizations, such as 501(c)(3) groups, and specific public entities, such as schools and libraries that are not categorized as charitable organizations. The purpose of all donations to these groups is intended specifically for social welfare and charitable purposes. All grant recipients must be nonprofit, charitable organizations tax-exempt under section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (if U.S. based) or must be equivalent organizations (if outside of the U.S.) with registered charitable status if available.Applications for funding from the PPG Industries Foundation are accepted for the priority giving areas of education and community sustainability and are considered on an invitation-only basis.
