Since 1974, the Idaho Association of Commerce and Industry (IACI) has been Idaho's most effective business lobby. An important and influential force in Idaho politics representing every facet of business and industry in the state, IACI is proud to be known as 'The Voice of Business in Idaho'- representing the interests of the statewide business community on public policy issues before the Idaho Legislature.  IACI works for businesses across the state to make Idaho a better place to do business which in turn strengthens the state and provides opportunities for thousands of Idaho families. This is true prosperity!

Formed by a merger of the Idaho State Chamber and the Associated Industries of Idaho, IACI's sphere of influence grew quickly. Following the initial merger, the Idaho Potato Processors and the Idaho Safety Council also joined forces. A few years later, IACI expanded its role by sponsoring the successful Idaho Business Week program for high school students.

Today, IACI represents nearly 300 Idaho businesses in such diverse fields as agriculture and food service, technology, accounting firms and banks, utilities, manufacturing and construction, as well as chambers of commerce from Idaho's large and small cities and associations representing a wide variety of interests in this quest to shape policy for a bright economic future.

IACI is the only Idaho business organization that represents all sizes of business and represents all kinds of business.  IACI is the broadest-based, most diverse business association in Idaho – and that’s what establishes our effectiveness in public affairs advocacy. IACI provides public policy makers with information on a wide variety of issues. These issues affect every business in the state, member or not.

When lawmakers gather to decide on taxation, environmental regulation, employers' rights, funding or technological issues, IACI is there, always maintaining its role as a statewide business lobby, clearly focused on the issues.

We are pleased to be working with the Business Industry Political Action Committee (BIPAC) to provide Idaho companies, employers, and employees with the information and tools needed to help policy makers understand how their decisions can impact the health of Idaho’s economy and, therefore, the opportunities for Idaho’s citizens, families, and companies to continue to prosper in their local communities and on a global scale.
