The Coalition is dedicated to the passage of federal legislation in order to curb the rising tide of this crime that jeopardizes our nation’s critical infrastructure. Copper theft is a pervasive, opportunistic crime targeting transportation, communication and electricity networks.
Coalition For a Democratic Workplace
The Coalition for a Democratic Workplace is a coalition of workers, employers, associations and organizations who are fighting to protect the right to a federally supervised private ballot when workers are deciding whether or not to join a union. We are opposed to the so-called Employee Free Choice Act because it would strip Americans of that right and replace it with a system where your vote is no longer private, and it is made public to your employer, the union organizers and your co-workers.
Whether it’s legislation or regulation, the principle is the same: CDW believes the only way to guarantee worker protection from coercion and intimidation is through the continued use of a federally supervised private ballot election so that personal decisions about whether to join a union remain private.

The LIFO Coalition
LIFO Coalition represents businesses and trade associations of every size and industry sector that employ the last-in, first-out (“LIFO”) accounting method. The LIFO Coalition was organized in April 2006, when LIFO repeal was first proposed in the Senate as a revenue offset to fund unrelated policies. Since then the Coalition has grown to include more than 120 members: trade associations representing every sector of American industry -- manufacturing, wholesale distribution, and retailing -- and companies both large and small.
The Coalition’s mission is to preserve the option of companies to value their inventories pursuant to the LIFO method for federal income tax purposes.
